Summary of Services

Moving On have a proven track record of working positively with and engaging challenging young people. Moving On have provided a service to (although this list is not exhaustive), looked after children, children in need, unaccompanied asylum seeking children, young people with addiction problems and substance misuse, young people who display sexually harmful behaviours, young people involved in street gangs, young offenders, young people with learning disabilities, vulnerable people with mental health issues, young people at risk of sexual exploitation, vulnerable young adults and young parents.

Our service will:

Provide realistic, tailor made packages of support and accommodation based on an individual’s needs. To include shared accommodation and parent and child placements.

Provide a consistent, experienced and dedicated outreach worker who will act as a positive role model for young people to give, guidance, advice and support

Provide quality accommodation and a chance to live independently with support, to enable young people to make informed choices about their lives and direction and to support young people through their mistakes.

Provide a stepped package of support for young people that can be tailored according to need. This can include shared homes some with higher levels of support and independent flats with lower support levels. Support can be increased and decreased according to need. We operate throughout the UK.

Provide high quality staff and a robust thorough training and supervision package to ensure staff provide good quality support.

Provide independence training for young people that is relevant and tailor made for each individual. Moving On assists young people with the development of Life Skills, practical units in these life skills are accredited through the AQA unit award scheme.

Provide regular updates to placing workers and regular attendance at meetings to try and demonstrate progression, according to an individual’s care plan. Outcomes stars are used to help demonstrate a young person’s journey of change and to help to focus keywork.

Provide a value for money service

Provide a 24 hour support line which is manned by experienced support staff.

Provide 24 hour management back up for advice and guidance.

Monitor outcomes at both individual and service level through Outcomes stars, feedback forms and performance monitoring worksheets.
